This catalogue documents Nicodemus Tessin's extensive and important collection of architectual drawings, now in the keeping of the Nationalmuseum, Stockholm. Presenting the works according ti the principles of an early manuscript catalogue of the collection, this volume covers ecclesiastical architecture, gardens architecture and French secular architecture. The drawings, all of which are reproduced, are by Tessin as well as by other draughtsmen and relate in particular to the architect's studies in Sweden, Italy and France. Forthcoming volumes in the series will cover Tessin's own works, Italian secular architecture, the decorative arts as well as a range of miscellaneous subjects.
