Nicodemus Tessin the Younger, Travel notes 1673-77 and 1687-88 - sources, works, collections

This volume is part of the series Nicodemus Tessin the Younger. Sources, Works, Collections.

Tessin spent many years studying architecture, interior decoration, garden design, theatre, arrangements for festivities and ceremonies etc. in Rome and Paris. He also traveled all over Europe in order to study and record every form of artistic activity, collecting and court life that could serve him as Royal Architect in Stockholm. His extensive travel notes are a significant source of information about art and architecture in the late 17th century. They are published here in full for the first time.
